Indicating that the 2021-2022 table olive season ended on September 30, Aegean Exporters' Associations (EIB) stated that Turkey's table olive export revenues in the 2021-2022 season increased by 15% compared to the previous season and reached $173 million.

According to Davut Er, Chairman of the Aegean Region Olive and Olive Oil Association, black olive exports increased by 19% in the 2021-2022 season compared to the previous season, reaching 80,000 tons, and black olive export revenues increased by 10% to $125 million.

Saying that green olive exports from Turkey increased from 21,000 tons to 30,000 tons compared to last season, and revenues increased by 35% to 48 million dollars, Davut Er announced that the 11-month olive oil export season has been completed.

Olive oil exports increased by 28% from 40,000 tons to 52,000 tons; Stating that the revenues increased by 44% to 180 million tons, Er pointed out that the liter price of olive oil rose from $3.03 to $3.44.

Davut Er said that they expect better and larger volumes of harvest than last year if weather conditions and precipitation allow in the new season. She also predicts that yields will remain low in Spain and Italy due to global warming.

Davut Er said, “We are planning to take advantage of this situation. We set ourselves the target of increasing our revenue to 500 million dollars for the next season.”
